I grew up as a lad with a pony doing gymkhanas and other horsey related events. From Pony Camps to three day events, my mum lived out her own girl hood dreams through me. I think. Bless her.

I was good. I mean really good. With 600 rosettes and boxes of trophies. Of course I enjoyed it (except dressage!), but once I discovered girls, things kinda changed 
.
Painting horses in movement is one of the most ridiculously hard things to do. This loose oil sketch (original was 10″ x 8″) was one of my better attempts. Overall it works well and I think captures the animal correctly.
